Ramblings from Oregon

Because the computers on campus are somewhat inconvenient to get to and to be at, I decided to blog while I had the chance. My writing has been going very well, since that’s basically all I do. I read some, then I am given a general thought and am told to write about it for five to ten minutes. It yields interesting results. Examples: Continue reading “Ramblings from Oregon”

10 Best Picture Nominees?

Just wondering, what did all of you think about this?

I’m personally kind of torn on the subject. On one hand, having less nominees can be better by making it more exclusive and only the best of the best will get the honor of being nominated. But then again, sometimes these nominees honestly don’t deserve top 5 status, and with more nominees, theres a better chance for more of the the really good movies to get nominated (Ex. Assassination of Jesse James would have gotten a nomination alongside Juno in 2008). So whats your opinion on this?

To the supporters of gay marriage…

First off, I would like to clarify that this post, unlike many in the past, does not primarily concern gay marriage. I merely wish to target a certain type of audience- one which can think unbiasedly, as the topic of this post is… touchy. It has to do with  a topic that, in my opinion, is met with more thoughtless bigotry than any other. It is as well a topic that has more in common with gay marriage than any other civil rights issue, which is why I am interested to hear the supporters of gay marriages’ thoughts on it. The topic? Incest. Continue reading “To the supporters of gay marriage…”

Where oh where

Has dear Ahmy been.

Well, in summation, Pueblo. I went to USC-Pueblo for a week for a program called Boys’ State. It’s a mock government setting for juniors going to be seniors hosted by the American Legion in 49 states. What an experience. 18 hour days for a week. Military flag raising a lowing ceremonies. Though it was only a week it felt like much much longer. A month perhaps, or even a year. I have come out of it with friends who I feel I’ve known as long as any reading this or more. Anywho, now that that’s out of the way, I wanted to pose a question to all of you. How has the recent loss of Nate effected you? Personally, I didn’t know him. Thusly, it hasn’t really effected me.

Prologue: Ashland

Long hand!

Eight days ago, I started writing a new book, which is either going to be called “Ashland” or “The Secret Wife”. I’m not sure which one I like better yet. Averaging 1697 words a day, it’s 13,580 words at this point, which is the equivalent of 39 pages. That’s incredible progress in just a little over a week in between working and everything else I’ve got going on. Knock on wood, but I don’t think I’m going to get writer’s block anytime soon, which is a powerful and exciting feeling. So now, for all you (3) readers of the site, I reveal the prologue! Tell me what you think!

Hulk vs. Hulk

Ok, so today I’m gonna be comparing the two Hulk movies that have recently come out, the first one with Eric Bana, and the newest one with Edward Norton.

So I hardly know anyone besides my dad who likes the first one better, but I myself am not sure which one I like better, so I’m gonna compare a few different aspects of them.

Ten things I never thought I’d enjoy

There comes a point in my life that I have to admit some things about myself. I’m bossy, I’m mean, I’m a dork, and most of all, I am very stubborn. This stubbornness makes it hard for me to change my mind sometimes, but when I do, it’s often quite drastic. These are the top ten things in my life that I never expected to enjoy, but do.
