What’s your password?

If I told you, I’d have to kill you.

So I had this great music blog idea the other day, but because I’m dumb and lazy, I didn’t write it down. So now I don’t know what to talk about…

Ok, you know what? I’m going to type up some of my newest lyrics, and you guys critique their musicality. I don’t think that’s a word…

*NO TITLE*

There’s five years of my life
That I’m not getting back
And it’s weighing on my mind
Strength was what I lacked

I met you on a sunny day
But now you’re done, the skies are grey
I guess some things were never meant to last

I’ve wasted so much time
Hoping I could call you mine
Even when the crush was through
I was always waiting ’round for you

I trusted too many times
Until you said goodbye to me
Why wasn’t I the one
Who had the guts to set you free?

I met you on a sunny day
But now you’re done, the skies are grey
I guess some things were never meant to last

I’ve wasted so much time
Hoping I could call you mine
Even when the crush was through
I still waited ’round for you

You left me broken on the floor
You didn’t want me anymore
Was I expected to lie and wait?
To be picked up at a later date?

I met you on a sunny day
But now you’re done, the skies are grey
I guess some things were never meant to last

I’ve wasted so much time
Hoping I could call you mine
Even when the crush was through
I still waited ’round for you

(People who know me should know what that one is about…)

*SONG I WROTE IN ASTRONOMY*

There’s faith and then there’s logic
There’s heart and then there’s mind
Why can’t they be put together?
Together, we could shine

It doesn’t matter what you worship
But that you practice what you love
You don’t have to have a God
Just turn your gun in for a dove

There’s wrong and then there’s right
You’ve got your heaven and your hell
Who are we to hurt each other?
In hatred, we control the swell

It doesn’t matter what you worship
But that you practice what you love
You don’t have to have a God
Just turn your gun in for a dove

Love your neighbor and your brother
Your friends, and all the others
Do to me what I’d do to you
To everyone, not just a few
Love the beauties and the flaws
And we’ll stay out of hatred’s claws
Show a smile before a frown
And not a one can bring us down

It doesn’t matter what you worship
But that you practice what you love
You don’t have to have a God
Just turn your gun in for a dove

(Yay!)

A little for everyone

You’re like Dirt to me now

A flower without it’s petals
A mine without it’s metals
A dog without it’s bark
A playground without the park

I don’t care if it is stupid
I know what I want
You are suffering too
We’re like dirt without a pot

It’s like a fire without the flames
Pieces without the games
A garden without it’s flowers
Superman without his powers

I don’t care if it is stupid
I know what I want
You are suffering too
We’re like dirt without a pot

We might get hurt
But at least we’d have tried
Don’t want to wonder “what if”
For the rest of my life…

I don’t care if it is stupid
I know what I want
You are suffering too
We’re like dirt without a pot

When there’s nothing left

Her eyes are black
Just like the skin above her cheek
Her skin is red
From the thirteenth scab this week
Her hands are shaking
As she cowers in her room
Her ears are ringing
But his rant is ending soon

Why do you look away?
Why does she have to pay?
She has done nothing wrong
Her head hurts from being strong
But she’s got nowhere left to go

His arm is broken
Because papa lost his job
His face is bruised
But he can not even sob
His will is taken
So he hides himself away
His head is spinning
He’s got no choice but to stay

Why do you look away?
Why does he have to pay?
He has done nothing wrong
His heart hurts from being strong
But he’s got nowhere left to go

She’s waited so long
To turn eighteen
He joined the army
So they can’t hear him scream
Why me?

Why do you look away?
Why do they have to pay?
They have done nothing wrong
Their hearts strain from being strong
But still they’re crying all alone

AH Lyrics

Since I’m in a hotel room right now and I have been either travelling or without sufficient computer access for the past few days, today’s (late) music blog will be a bit pathetic. I also forgot to bring my flash drive with my Nine Days CD review on it so yeah.

I just compiled some of my favorite lyrics for today. Kudos if you can identify them without looking them up, but I’ll forgive you someday if you have to Google ’em. Anyways, enjoy!

“You should never let the sun shine on tomorrow before the sun rises today”

“Hate is a strong word, but I really really really don’t like you”

“If you want better answers ask better questions”

“Shelter me oh genius words, just give me strength, to pen these things”

“I will write you a song, that’s how you’ll know that my love is still strong”

“When you’re dreaming with a broken heart, the waking up is the hardest part”

“We’ve learned to change but did we change to learn”

“OOOH THIS IS AN S-O-S!!!”

Sorry had to throw that last one in. Muahaha.

Panda Panda PANDAAA

In case no one read my blog a couple days ago, I will now be doing music reviews and blogs as well as regular blogging. So here’s my first, my top six favorite songs. I picked each for a different reason; most have excellent lyrics, always a plus, and some have just a great sound.

Ok, I admit it. Lyrics are the most important part. I’m including a quote from each song so you get a feel for it.

TOP SIX BEST SONGS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD

1. Dare You To Move- Switchfoot
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

2. Hallelujah- Paramore
Holding onto patience wearing thin
I can’t force these eyes to see the end

3. Wasted- Cartel
And I’m 18 couldn’t wait to move out
It’s been 5 years and now I’m starting to doubt…
Whether all my dreams are just aimless stares
Looking off to someplace that isn’t there

4. I’m Like a Lawyer- Fall Out Boy
From a sour bottle baby girl
With eyes the size of baby worlds

5. If I Am- Nine Days
But it’s always too late when you’ve got nothing,
So you say
And you should never let the sun set on tomorrow,
Before the sun rises today

6. When I’m Gone (Acoustic)- Simple Plan
Life it’s what happens
While you’re busy making your excuses

Ahh, music. More to come.

Model Girl

I may not look like a runway girl

I may not wear the latest fashions

My nose may be a bit big

But that doesn't mean I have don't have a passion

I may not look like your

model girl

I may not look like I can

carry the weight of the world

But I hold my head high!

And I try not to cry

I might not be the prettiest!

But I'm not who you should detest

I'm not your model girl

But I'm more, so much more

What's inside my head is

what really matters

What's on the outside

well, it can shatter

I may not look like your

model girl

I may not look like I can

carry the weight of the world

But I hold my head high!

And I try not to cry

I might not be the prettiest!

But I'm not who you should detest

I'm not your model girl

But I'm more, so much more

Don't compare me

To the girls you see on TV

I will never look like that

But I've got more to offer

than a pretty face,

a pretty face

I may not look like your

model girl

I may not look like I can

carry the weight of the world

But I hold my head high!

And I try not to cry

I might not be the prettiest!

But I'm not who you should detest

I'm not your model girl

But I'm more, so much more

I may not look like your

model girl

I may not look like I can

carry the weight of the world

But I hold my head high!

And I try not to cry

I might not be the prettiest!

But I'm not who you should detest

I'm not your model girl

But I'm more, so much more

Clones of Society (a song I wrote a couple years ago, one of my first)

When I look out into my world

I see an army

immature duplicates

Their thoughts are unfurled

Only nothing is heard

They are all clones of our un-reality

We are all caught in this web of misery

I don’t wanna be

A clone of so-ci-e-ty

I wish we all were

In touch with re-al-i-ty

Why can’t we find

The beauty that was once inside?

It’s lost to us

Now

It’s gone

Looking to the east

The scuf-ling of feet

Shuffling, the sound of the

zombies of now

I wish I could get out

Of this stampede!

But really all I can do is

Watch all them feed

On the common look and thoughts that we’ve made

I don’t wanna be

A clone of so-ci-e-ty

I wish we all were

In touch with re-al-i-ty

Why can’t we find

The beauty that was once inside?

It’s lost to us

Now

It’s gone

No no no!

I will rebel

I can fortell

The outcome of this

The bells are ringing

Girls are singing

The same tune again!

We’ve all made it clear

That we’re locked in this fear

But no one can tell that

They’re trapped

Trapped

The clones start to shut down

The sameness, they’re overwhelmed

They can not find all that something

That was once inside

They’ve allowed themselves to

Drown in all that

com-mon crap

They all, at the store, bought the same map

But I will fight!

I don’t wanna be

A clone of so-ci-e-ty

I wish we all were

In touch with re-al-i-ty

Why can’t we find

The beauty that was once inside?

It’s lost to us

Now

It’s gone

Disappeared!

Vanished, whisked away

Into the skies of yesterday

Here is a song I wrote one day when it was raining…

This song, Fall Rain Fall, is meant to be sung slowly, in a pitch that even I can manage.

Fall Rain Fall

Thunder claps

Lightning strikes

Fall rain fall

Tears stream

Down her face

Fall rain fall

Drown out the sound

Of her cries for help

Erase the traces

Of the tears that fell

You wouldn't listen then

So why do you, now?

The river, the river

Overflows

Fall rain fall

She call, she calls

For help

Fall rain fall

Drown out the sound

While she cries in fear

Erase the traces that she was here

You wouldn't listen then

So why are you near

Let the rain

Let it fall

You wouldn't

help at all

Fall rain fall

She's still crying

She may never stop

The tears

Just keep coming

Fall rain fall

Drown out the sound

As she sobs on the floor

Erase the traces

Forever more

You wouldn't listen then

So fall, rain, fall

Whatcha think?

Here's a link so you can listen to it. You'll hear Vannah (who sings it) rustling the paper at one point, because, I being the writer, she didn't completely know the song. Sorry.
