"Cloverdale" as my mom calls it

DISCLAIMER: Not only is this review poorly written and highly opinionated, it contains SPOILERS. Furthermore, you are reading MY OPIONION. Though I have no doubt many of your own opionions, I don't need to hear about how much I suck just because you disagree. However, if you can intelligently argue, please do.

When I first saw the teaser trailer to the major motion picture, Cloverfeild, I knew instantly that I would love it. It had shaky, yet realistic camera angles, people running in chaos, and mysterious happenings in New York City. This was going to be it; my new favourite movie.

I only ran into one small problem when I finally watched it this last monday; It sucked. Really sucked. They-used-lines-like-"I knew you'd come for me"-sucked.

I felt like I was being punished as I followed the adventure unfold through the camera of "Hudd". I can only assume Hudd was born of the directors pure hatred for the audience, as I can think of no other reason for creating such a character. Hudd, an obnoxious, nosy, and appearantly very lonely bachelor, narrates the entire 140 minutes of this film with such intelligent input as "THAT'S THE SH!#$, MAN! WOOO! THATS THE SHIT!", and of course "OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD!!!"

The only thought that kept me watching was that surely this was the stereotypical obnoxious person who would die early on, but to my dissapointment, I found I had to wait about 136 minutes into the movie before this monumental a-hole is finnally silenced.

As I endured the idiots screaming and camera-shaking, I had to watch my two favorite characters die. First was Jason, who seemed to be the only one who thought that getting out of the way of a 50 story monster was a good Idea. Then there was Marlene, who, although had a very small part, was the one I felt the most connceted with; you see, she also hated Hud.

Possiby what bugged me most about Cloverfield is that it came so close to being a good movie, but was filled with idiots. I go to public high school, I'm around idiots all day. The last thing I want to do is spend 140minutes of my spare time watching more idiots.

You are absolutely hilarious. There's no way to intelligently argue with that.

Bri: Oh. I dunno. It did at school. Instead of beige, all of te blocks were light yellow...
Scarface: Interesting... (in a slightly british accent)
MrCaboose: maybe the screen was set incorrectly for the color settings
Bri: Maybe. It was odd.
