Going.. going... gone!!!
Ok, my first real blog is finally here!!!
According to Bri's poll about people following sports, I'm the only one who's voted yes. Because of this, I'll see if I can get some of you to possibly watch one of my very favorite sporting events, something we call the Home Run Derby.
Now I'm just going to assume that few of you like baseball, because most people either love it or hate it. However, there seems to be one common answer of why people don't like it: it's boring. The games go very slow, but there's one thing people love about it, home runs.
All the Home Run Derby is about is watching monumental blasts of human strength as you listen to Chris Berman's amazing broadcasting voice yell, "Back, back, back... and this one will leave the yard!" Now who can say that's boring, not me. It's also a fun experience because you get to see the players having loads of fun with their families on the field with them. And if the ball doesn't make it out of the park then there are a bunch of little guys in uniformg in the outfield trying to catch the balls, and it's fun to see youngsters catch fly balls from pros.
It aires Monday, July 14, 2008 on ESPN at 8:00 P.M. eastern time. This particular derby is extremely special because it is being held at Yankee Stadium in New York City, and it's the last year the stadium will remain standing. Some of the greatest players in the history of the game have made that field their home, including Babe Ruth.
So take my advice, if you aren't busy next Monday then turn the TV to ESPN and watch the Home Run Derby, it's about as exciting as it gets. The defending champion Vladimir Guerrero is expected to be back in it, but my bet is on The Big Puma, Lance Berkman. I'm betting on a lefty, Yankee Stadium has a short porch in right field.

Submitted by Bri's Soldier of Awesomness on July 8, 2008 - 10:57.Nice first blog, Scarface! This is Bri, who is too lazy to log in. If I had TV I would probably watch the derby, but sadly I do not.
One thing. Blogging isn't about sentence structure, or correct writing styles. Have fun with this! You can use sentence fragments and make up words and rant and ramble. You seem stiff, nervous, and I totally understand. Spice up your blogs! Yes, a lot of your job will be to persuade people into sports, so you've got to get us vamped up! Excellent job with the -All the Home Run Derby is about is watching monumental blasts of human strength as you listen to Chris Berman's amazing broadcasting voice yell, "Back, back, back... and this one will leave the yard!"- part. And you don't have to explain everything, either. Just say you like it, and if someone wants clarification, they can leave a comment.
Have fun, Cody! Great start!
I needed this
Submitted by Scarface on July 8, 2008 - 20:38.Thanks a bunch for the advice, really needed it. I admit I was a little stiff and didn't want to leave people not knowing what they're watching. And I always write in correct sentence structure and style, it's kind of a habit, but I'll try and break it. Ya, Chris Berman is freaking amazing!!! Again thanks for the advice and thinking I did well.
This is just an informative blog too, I've got a bunch planned out that are issues, actually a baseball play last night has already struck an argument topic that I HOPE will do well.
