I just spent 5 hours at a family reunion... I hate family reunions. Need I say any more?

Submitted by Bri on August 9, 2008 - 21:35.Are a somewhat foreign concept to me. I have a fairly big family, but they live in very obscure faraway places so I don't see most of them much. I have been to one family reunion, and all I can remember is that none of the kids were my age and I sat next to my mom the whole time.

The Mets game actually wasn't too bad though, but the BoSox game sucked. I kept having to hug a bunch of different people who I didn't even know their names. Can you say awkward?

Yeah, the concept seems pretty nice, get together with all your loved ones you haven't seen in a while and see how they've been doing, but this is usually not quite how they seem to turn out.
Usually, you end up standing around an entire group of people you should know, but don't, or are surrounded by all your annoying sister's daughter's neice's children...or something as rediculous as that. After the introductions to all the people you don't know, you are then either ignored or asked the same questions over and over by 20 different people who are named "Sue" or "Bob" after your great grandparents. "What is your name?" "How are you related to so and so?" "What grade are you in now?"....blah blah blah. I think next time it would just be easier if everyone would walk around with information flyers for themselves and get it done and over with. Not that I'm bitter or anything...
