Hmmm, I've detected a flaw

So, I was on facebook the other day and I saw something pertaining to gay rights that caught my eye. A friend of mine posted two new things:

{[name of friend] was recruited by [another friend] to the cause Gay Rights. [friend 1] says, “I care about this cause. One can only hope this issue will soon be resolved, and the only way it will is through a loud, outspoken voice”}

then directly below it

{[friend] joined the group "Yelling in my face won't convince me to Christianity."}

And I just saw an immense contradiction in her points. I posted:

{I would like to point out the irony in you saying that "the only way it will is through a loud, outspoken voice" right before joining the group "Yelling in my face won't convince me to Christianity." Loud outspoken voice good while yelling bad?}

Of course this wasn't taken well:

{yes, because we are not shoving it down their throats, we are advocating rights that gays deserve. Religion and rights are not the same thing. Separation of church and state?}

So I said

{It seems you believe yelling is an effective negotiation tactic for things that you believe in but not for things you don't. If yelling won't work on you for Christianity, what would? These should be the tactics employed in advocating for gay rights. If "one loud voice" isn't enough for Christianity then why would it be enough for gay rights? I just feel the irony is self defeating.You believe the best method for advocating something you believe in is by a method that doesn't work on you for something you don't. I am sorry if anything I have said here is offensive, I personally believe in gay rights, but your self contradictory comments caught my eye.}

This parallel between Gay Rights and Christianity, though timid, is a valid one. Please don't hurt me with your words now *cringes in fear*

On method...

I'm not sure I would draw any parallel from this between the two causes (gay rights and christianity) but rather in method of projecting your cause.

I agree that this person came off as hypocritical though.

Bri: Oh. I dunno. It did at school. Instead of beige, all of te blocks were light yellow...
Scarface: Interesting... (in a slightly british accent)
MrCaboose: maybe the screen was set incorrectly for the color settings
Bri: Maybe. It was odd.
