Step #1: Figure out how to worth the TV. They will become distracted immediately, at least until the show ends and there’s that five to ten minute wait before the next show starts. Sometimes, they’ll resist. At this point, ask them to go pick up toys in the general vicinity of the TV, wait a minute or two, then go find them staring slack-jawed at the TV. The Last Airbender: Bri’s Take
So last night, my friend Chad invited me to go to The Last Airbender with him and a small group of people. We went to a 9:50 showing, which seemed a bit late, but we’ve all learned not to question Chad. It’s just easier. Continue reading “The Last Airbender: Bri’s Take”
[Day 341] Kids and Books

Puzzling
A billion splintered pieces
Some from the same picture
Some from a new one
Hold the shards in your hand
Clench
Feel the piercing in your palm
Watch the thin trickles of blood seep through your fingertips
And then put it all back together.
Maybe it will be something beautiful
But you can’t shake the feeling
That there are a few pieces
That will always be missing.
