If you can’t already tell what my next item is, then you’re either stupid or haven’t reached your concrete operational stage of development yet.* And just to clear up any misconceptions that I know are going to pop up, yes, I have the ability to recharge things at will. Continue reading “[Day 312] Marooned Week 4: Musica”
[Bri 2.0 BONUS!] Cleaning out my archives
Before updating my iPhone to OS4 yesterday, I had to delete unused footage from my iMovie archive because there wasn’t enough space on my computer to facilitate an upload. This has spurned a need in me to delete as much of the old crap on my computer as I can find. And that means starting with the expansive folder entitled “Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here”. Yes. There is actually a folder on my computer called that. So I thought it would be fun to post some of the crap I have from… well… ever ago. Also, I now have a plugin that tweets when I post, so I want to test that out. Continue reading “[Bri 2.0 BONUS!] Cleaning out my archives”
[Day 311] Marooned Week 3: Literature
You had to know this was coming. I mean, there’s really no way to get around it. As with most writers, I was first a reader. I couldn’t just give that up after being marooned. And the first book I really fell in love with was Harry Potter. Continue reading “[Day 311] Marooned Week 3: Literature”
[Bri 2.0 BONUS!] Biology, explained
I just found this in my archives while brainstorming for next week’s theme week, high school tips and tricks. It’s back from freshman year, and I think it’s hilarious. Also, weirdly helpful. Continue reading “[Bri 2.0 BONUS!] Biology, explained”
[Day 310] Marooned Week 2: Yummy
Keep in mind that all my survival needs are taken care of, and that anything I want to bring to the planet will work. As for today’s item, yes, I will have water-boiling capabilities and two tablespoons of canola oil handy when I need them. So I don’t want to hear it. Continue reading “[Day 310] Marooned Week 2: Yummy”
[Day 309] Marooned Week 1: Predictable
I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve been posed this situation, or seen it posed in literature and movies and TV shows. “If you were stuck on a desert island, what would you bring?” This week, I’m going to explore the 7 things I’d need with me, but with my own twists. Continue reading “[Day 309] Marooned Week 1: Predictable”
[Bri 2.0 Bonus Update] Theme Weeksies
I was just going to add all of this housekeeping stuff to the first post of the new theme week (I’ll get to that in a second), but I decided it can be its own post. With 56 days left in this project, I feel you (five) readers deserved some updates and information as to how I’m going to swing this. Continue reading “[Bri 2.0 Bonus Update] Theme Weeksies”
[Day 308] Because my lips hurt real bad! (Where’s my chapstick?)
I was commissioned to do a “Bri’s World” video about nationals, but I think it’s probably safer to just leave it be. It is what it is, let’s move on. (I was one rank away from breaking to semi-finals and Joe has a picture of shirtless Captain Apollo from BSG as his phone’s background) Continue reading “[Day 308] Because my lips hurt real bad! (Where’s my chapstick?)”
[Day 307] BCILAAMTBW Week 7: Nick Carroway
Those of you who are reading my Eugenia updates will probably recognize the last name of my final fictional lover, as I borrow it for my main character. Meg Carroway has a nice ring, don’t you think? And it didn’t hurt that the last name is attached to one of my favorite characters in literature of all time. Continue reading “[Day 307] BCILAAMTBW Week 7: Nick Carroway”
[Day 306] BCILAAMTBW Week 6: Kartik
One of my all time favorite series (after Harry Potter, of course), is the Gemma Doyle trilogy. A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, and The Sweet Far Thing chronicle the unlikely magical heroine’s journey from spoiled English schoolgirl with a wry sense of humor to savior of the world as we know it. And along the way, she meets an Indian boy named Kartik who helps her with this journey. Continue reading “[Day 306] BCILAAMTBW Week 6: Kartik”
