Although this shirt is kind of a Star Wars parody (if you’ve seen the movies, you’ll get the joke), it’s still pretty nerdy. Especially because I would have bought it regardless of the text, as long as the Death Star was readily apparent. Which leads me to today’s subject: science fiction. Continue reading “[Day 295] Teeshirt week 6: Science Fiction”
[Bonus!] Question Mark
I’m at Borders right now, waiting for the other debate people to show up, catching up on the blog. I wrote and posted yesterday’s and today’s teeshirt week blogs, and then drafted tomorrow’s. Then I wrote a short journal entry and updated my Facebook and Twitter. Now I’m staring at my computer, feeling like I’m not done. Continue reading “[Bonus!] Question Mark”
[Day 294] Teeshirt week 5: Thesaurus
Init cute?!? I don’t know if the picture quality is high enough for you to notice all of the subtle little details like the braces or the bowtie, and if not, use your imagination. The Thesaurus is the nerdiest dinosaur you’ll ever see, and I absolutely love him. I’ll post an even nerdier teeshirt blog tomorrow, but today I want to focus on why the Thesaurus is basically my spirit animal. Continue reading “[Day 294] Teeshirt week 5: Thesaurus”
[Day 293] Teeshirt week 4: Boys Like Girls
Sorry this post is a day late. I have two excuses: 1. I was inexplicably exhausted and randomly fell asleep in front of my computer at about four in the afternoon until around eight, plus 2. I have become inexplicably obsessed with Battlestar Galactica, and have watched 1 1/2 episodes so far on NinjaVideo. (Fun fact: the other day I expressed interest in watching the series, and my brother said “We already watch Doctor Who, which is here on the nerd scale,” *makes a motion with his hand* “Battlestar Galactica is here,” *makes much higher motion with hand*) Continue reading “[Day 293] Teeshirt week 4: Boys Like Girls”
[Day 292] Teeshirt week 3: Nerdfighters
A couple of years ago, I watched this video, which featured Maureen Johnson and Libba Bray, two of my favorite female writers. I had no idea who “Brother John” was, but I thought the video was funny. Then, a couple years later, I stumbled across a Youtube channel called “vlogbrothers”. After a couple videos and the realization that one half of the channel was an author that I had just discovered, John Green. (Yes, “Brother” John). I wrote him a letter back on day 125, which you can read here. (it’s weird that I can say things like that.) Continue reading “[Day 292] Teeshirt week 3: Nerdfighters”
[Day 291] Teeshirt Week 2: Owl City
Blehblargh sorry this wasn’t posted earlier. I was up all night sweating and blowing my nose all over the place, then woke up at five with a fever. Which was, you know, lots of fun. So let’s just say I spent the day watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch, She’s All That (which was tremendously awful. The things they passed of as plot development and dialogue…), and rereading Questionable Content archives. Clearly, not a lot of time for writing bloggities. Continue reading “[Day 291] Teeshirt Week 2: Owl City”
[Day 290] Teeshirt week 1: Russel’s Teapot
This is my second most recent tee-shirt purchase (the first one is tomorrow’s shirt), which I bought on the internet here. It’s basically a picture representation of a philosophical theory regarding religion, called Russell’s Teapot, made by 20th century philosopher Bertrand Russel in 1952. Continue reading “[Day 290] Teeshirt week 1: Russel’s Teapot”
[Bonus Post!] Jason Mraz wrote me a letter!
Someday, I hope he actually reads it. 🙂
[Day 289] Single (Original Song)
There might possibly be another song next week.
[Day 288] I’m so lonely I fall in love with my characters
So it’s 1:30 in the afternoon and I’m in my local Border’s cafe area taking a writing break. I suppose it’s not really a writing break since I stopped writing in Eugenia to write this blog post, but whatever. We all know I’ve been losing my mind for a while now. (On an unrelated note, Bubbilicious gum individual pieces are HUGE. I just popped on in to keep my coffee breath at bay and now I feel like I’m chewing two pounds of cud.)
