The first time I rode on a plane alone was from Austin, Texas to Roanoke, Virginia. I made this trip for a college program I had been accepted to, at Hollins University. I was excited, because they had one of the best writing programs in the country, but I was also a little anxious. It was an all girls school. Continue reading “[Day 80] Together we’ll move on”
Category: 365 Days of Bri (Bri 2.0)
Bri’s adventure to rediscover herself.
[Day 79] Everything has changed, faces stay the same
Everyday
So many things
Go unsaid.
Everyday
My head grapples with my my common sense
And my common sense has begun to win.
Everyday
I could make that comment
Tell you off
Yell in your direction
Proclaim to the world how I really feel
But I don’t.
Because it isn’t worth it.
And neither are you.
So you’re welcome, for staying quiet
And letting you live out the last year of high school
In peace.
Because you and I both know
That these will be the best days of your life.
Enjoy it.
[78] When the sky is falling, don’t look outside
Given the opportunity, most all teenagers will procrastinate. Essay due in next Tuesday? I’ll wait ’til Monday night. Or at least, I used to wait. Continue reading “[78] When the sky is falling, don’t look outside”
[Day 77] Jaa?
There were three good things that happened today.
1. Even though I spent maybe ten seconds on my hair this morning, I got three positive compliments about it.
2. I was a constructive part of Congress brainstorming at debate
3. I had my first therapy appointment in almost two months and she taught me to meditate.
a. I might be able to sleep now.
[Day 76] Ash: Chapter 1
When I was in 7th grade, I thought that I was smart enough to write a whole novel. Although the intellect was indeed lacking, I managed to finish it. It would take me longer than the book is to explain to you the plot, so here’s the first chapter. Continue reading “[Day 76] Ash: Chapter 1”
[Day 75] Band of Horses
Dear Julia Nunes,
I found you on YouTube only a few days ago, and I’m already in love with your music. Thank you for not being shy about your talent and your gift. The world needs to hear this music. Continue reading “[Day 75] Band of Horses”
[Day 74] Upper Middle Class
[Day 73] My favorite number!
I’ve had a fairly constant group of female friends since halfway through eighth grade. The only ones who I still consider part of the group, however, are Kelli, Mia, and Danika. And the people I’ve been closest to have been Kelli and Mia, both of whom I’ve already talked about in this forum. But I think the reason for that is because they talk so much. Continue reading “[Day 73] My favorite number!”
[Day 72] A memory in place of a nicety
I used to think I was pretty hot stuff. Well, let’s face it, I am hot stuff. But in a different way then I thought I was when I was twelve.
See, when I was twelve, I thought I would be this great lip sync-er. I don’t know where I got this idea, but one day it popped up and I just went with it. Could have been my calling. You never know, right? Continue reading “[Day 72] A memory in place of a nicety”
[Day 71] An Encounter
There is a girl that goes to my school named Celsey. Prior to her becoming one with our group, I could only observe her from afar, and, in the least creepy way possible, she fascinated me. Continue reading “[Day 71] An Encounter”
