[Day 70] I have the Biggest Loser theme stuck in my head

It was silent. The bags under my eyes seemed to sag lower, and my eyelids begged to fall into place. There was almost nothing in the world that I wanted more than to lie down on those cold blue benches and sleep. But it was cold and I’d forgotten a coat. So I kept my eyes open in the vain attempt to awaken myself. Continue reading “[Day 70] I have the Biggest Loser theme stuck in my head”

[Day 69] The Clarity of Confusion

Just so no one freaks out: I’m switching Monday and Thursday of this week because I really want to write about what happened today.

One of my friends recently traveled to a different state to visit her significant other in college. She’d been excited about the trip for a good while now, and everyone who knew her was excited as well, because her attraction to him was so genuine. It was a four day weekend, the perfect opportunity for her trip. She was scheduled to arrive home on Sunday afternoon. Continue reading “[Day 69] The Clarity of Confusion”

[Day 68] Weeds

Dear Julio Noboa, (disclaimer… read the poem before the letter. It’ll make a whole lot more sense)

When I was in 6th grade, shy and afraid of the giant world of middle school, I was flipping through my literature book and came across your poem, Identity. I was unfamiliar with poetry completely, but I was so compelled that I copied down the entire poem in my notebook. But after being caught up in middle school drama, I no longer wanted to identify with the tall, ugly weed. I didn’t care if I was picked up by “greedy human hands”. I’d be pretty and therefore wanted, right? Continue reading “[Day 68] Weeds”

[Day 66] Cars Cost Monies

Photo 390*name have been changed to protect the idiot* Last year, a boy by the name of *Frank* moved to my school. He came and sat down with my group of friends early that year, and then continued to seek me out in the hallways because he didn’t know anyone else yet. Now, I don’t know Frank very well, although he did invite me to train hop to Minnesota with him (with only Doritos as sustenance), but he’s important to me as a role model of what to never let my life become. [Day 64] VlogBrothers Day

If you’re familiar with Brotherhood 2.0, then you’ll get the reference in the title. But if you don’t, it’s ok. Anyways. Even if you don’t know me, finding my blog would clue you in on two things; I’m a narcissist and I’m a technology junkie. Let’s focus on the latter, however. My life is consumed with “textual” communication, through text messages, emails, and Facebook messages, so today I wanted to get away from all of that. Continue reading “[Day 64] VlogBrothers Day”

[Day 63] Video Girl

Photo 378My day started off with a near-inability to get out of bed, followed by the realization that I’m developing a muffin top (google it). Then I ate an unsatisfying, silent breakfast, followed by a quick ten minutes of email checking and being threatened with having my door taken off its hinges. Not a great beginning, but I was determined to find something good about today. Continue reading “[Day 63] Video Girl”

[Day 61] Engineering Miracles

Dear Starbucks,

Photo 382Since your comment email only allows me to write 2600 characters, I’ll keep this brief. Basically, I wanted to commend you on your brilliant fall coffee, particularly your pumpkin spice latte. It’s an incredible gift to mankind, and I would just like to thank you for this contribution. No matter how stressed or upset I am, your blend of espresso and pumpkin flavoring always perks me up. I look forward to leaving the house because of the sweet promise of what I associate with a warm, liquified pumpkin pie. I truly don’t know what could be better.

Regards,

Bri
