Ah, sleep. It’s a wonderful thing, but unfortunately it is something that I rarely get to enjoy- or experience at all, in fact. So when the opportunity presents itself to me to get more sleep, I jump at it. Today was one such day. The sophomores had to take a PLAN test, a practice ACT, and so all morning classes were replaced with some sort of ju-jitsu presentation or something. I didn’t know what it was, and I didn’t care. All I knew was that I was gonna sleep in for an extra four hours. Continue reading “[Day 50] End Quote”

[Day 49] A Moment
I have a morning release, but since my brother and neighbor do not, I always give them a ride. So I spend my release in the library doing homework. Especially now that I bring my laptop to school, I’m productive and perpetually entertained. Continue reading “[Day 49] A Moment”
[Day 48] What about me, Mr. Coit?
On my first day of kindergarten, there was only one person I knew, and her name was Olivia. We’d been in the same gymnastics class, which seems to have made a more lasting impression on her, being a dancer now and all. So when I stepped into the room with hundreds of toys lined up on the rows of desks, I noticed her and didn’t leave her side the entire day. I was terrified, so a familiar face was reassuring. Continue reading “[Day 48] What about me, Mr. Coit?”
[Day 47] I can do math!
Dear Natalie Tran,
I don’t remember exactly when I first started watching your videos, but let me tell you, it was a day that changed my life forever. My parents have actually threatened to take my computer away from me because I spent more time watching your videos over and over again than I do anything else. While you were away doing your short film for school (I follow you on Twitter as well) I hid my sadness by watching all of your videos… again. Continue reading “[Day 47] I can do math!”

[Day 45] Mrs. Nerimon?
One of the best things about getting older is being able to talk to your parents as if you’re almost equals. I say almost because if I slip up and swear or say something inappropriate then I can still get grounded. But almost equals is better than them calling each other “mommy” and “daddy” and having to tell me that there comes a point in life where you can’t wear gaudy, flowery, spandex bike shorts out in public anymore. Continue reading “[Day 45] Mrs. Nerimon?”
[Day 44] It’s Cold
Unassertive people. We all know them, even if we don’t talk to them. But they’re there. In the corners of the library, in the back of classrooms, or sitting alone in the center of the cafeteria. They pretend not to care, but they do. Continue reading “[Day 44] It’s Cold”
[Day 43] Well that took you long enough
I’m going to prelude this blog with the fact that it will be very vague, because I don’t think I’m legally allowed to give specific details, nor do I want to give specific details because privacy is one of the most important things to have, and I’m not about to take that away from someone. Continue reading “[Day 43] Well that took you long enough”
[Day 42] The Meaning of Life
Speech and debate pretty much consumes my life. Everything is so… empty without it. I love the people, the events, and the overall feeling that comes with it. I am a narcissist, so hearing my own voice is always nice, I am argumentative, which is helpful for debating, and I am dramatic, which is great for my second event, poetry interpretation. Continue reading “[Day 42] The Meaning of Life”
[Day 41] Morgan stop pressing the keyboardq
What did you do for fun back in elementary school? From what I remember, most kids played four-square, tag, or just climbed around like monkeys on the playground equipment. There is one common theme among these games that might not be evident at first, but try and think of it. I’ll wait. What’s that? Oh, you give up? Don’t worry, it’s perfectly natural. I would have given up too. Continue reading “[Day 41] Morgan stop pressing the keyboardq”
