It’s 5:38 in the morning, and I’ve pushed the snooze button five times. Of course, I do this every day, but today my energy seems to be lacking that much more. Only one more alarm sounding until I have to get up to get ready for school. Have I mentioned how much I hate high school?
Vinny enters the room. “We don’t have school. Roy’s mom works for the district and they called her and then he called me.”
“Are you serious?”
“Yeah. Snow day.”
Triumphantly, I turn off the alarm. Not today, high school, not today.
