Big News!!!

Guess who just got back from their first concert?  That’s right, me!  It was frikin awesome too!!!  The band, who I’d never heard by the way, put on an amazing show and rocked the house.  It was a fairly small concert too, which meant I was able to get right up next to the stage, but it still was a full out concert with crazy lights and speakers and everything!!!  I even got a shirt and personally got it autographed!!!  I have a feeling there are more concerts in my near future…

Tears :’)

Scarface here, just thought it’d be appropriate right now to remind everyone that sometimes it’s alright to cry.  I’m 6’1″ and 175 lbs., but I still cry every once in a while.  I’ve found that it’s bad to hold in your emotions, because they might just burst out all at once in a really bad way.  Don’t be afraid to stick up for yourself and speak your mind, you owe it to yourself to do that.  You can work your way through anything, all you need is a little faith and some hard work.

Cut

This past week, disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler was traded from the Broncos to the Bears.  As a PRIOR Cutler fan, I am skeptical of the trade for a few reasons:

  1. Cutler was the Broncos best player, by far
  2. Cutler was a pro bowl quarterback
  3. The Broncos offense last year was stellar
  4. The only reason he left was because the new coach is a rookie and not too bright so far
  5. The Broncos now have no legit franchise quarterback
  6. Thee team is now without a leader as of yet

However, if the Broncos use their newly aquired draft picks to draft a new quarterback (Mark Sanchez for instance), I’d be more than happy to support the trade.  The Broncos recieved 2 first round draft picks as well as a third rounder, the potential to build a good team is there.  However, if the Broncos choose unwisely, the trade will be extremely detrimental to the team.  We’ll see what happens…

Ugh…

So I just got home today, it’s frikin late.  We played our biggest league rival today in baseball, it was a huge game.  We had them on the ropes, they were down 4-2 going into the last inning.  And somehow, with a mix of bad umpiring and a crucial error that would have ended the game, we let them go up 6-4 and take the game.

I also played miserably, 0-4 with a strikeout…  I did hit a rocket into centerfield, but the kid made an amazing play on it, I continue to have bad luck on the field right now.  So I’m pretty depressed, it was a big game and I kinda blew it.  We’ve got another game tomorrow, then two out of town this weekend.  We’ll see what happens.

Tweaking

Sometimes in sports it is difficult to figure out what’s wrong, in anything actually.  You know something is wrong, but discovering exactly what the problem is can be the biggest battle.  It can take weeks or months, or never happen at all.  Finding what exactly to tweak can be a headcase because people often fix the wrong things and just hurt themselves more.  But when you finally figure out what was wrong, the feeling is amazing!  Success is a cure-all, and fixing something yourself is very fulfilling.

Another type of tweaking is not so good though.  Last week I tweaked my hamstring stepping on first-base, it sucks.  I does hurt it too too bad, I can still play.  Yet I have to keep it wrapped in ace wrap and ice it all the time, I hate not being 100%.  Especially considering our first baseball game is on Thursday and my team needs me to perform.  I’m doing everything I can to get better though, injuries are a nasty business.

Well that’s all for now, wish me luck this week!

Coaching

Coaching is really key in sports to be perfectly honest, and most people really don’t realize this. One bad coach can ruin everything, they can take a great player and make him hate the game, it’s insane. My prior basketball coach was such an idiot and so inconsistent that it caused me to quit basketball, there was nothing that playing on the team was getting me. And coaches get mad too, they think they have nothing to do with people quitting, how could they be at fault? But the truth is that it’s almost entirely their fault, if it’s a good player at least. Why should someone play when it’s getting them absolutely nowhere?
