I wonder if this was how Ze Frank felt when he was on the 300th episode of The Show. Probably not quite the same, since a. he didn’t do weekends, b. it wasn’t about self discovery, and c. people were actually watching him. But I’m sure there was a certain nostalgia when he looked back on an almost completed year. Continue reading “[Day 300] What an accomplishment”

[Day 299] Housekeeping because I’m tired
Today I had originally planned on giving you a highly introspective post on old friends and the evolution and maturation of relationships, but instead I’m going to whine about my week because I’m exhausted and I still have Congress stuff to do. Continue reading “[Day 299] Housekeeping because I’m tired”

[Day 297] The Girl Called Gone (Original Song)
Used some GarageBand loops. This song is a bit different, but I had fun recording it. Luckily, I finished the day before I got sick.
[Day 296] Teeshirt week 7: Basketball
To close off teeshirt week, I thought it would be a good idea to revisit the teeshirt I have owned the longest and can still wear: my very first basketball jersey, all the way from 3rd grade.* I don’t remember the name of our team, who was on my team, or how we did; all I know is that I fell in love with the sport almost immediately. Continue reading “[Day 296] Teeshirt week 7: Basketball”
[Day 295] Teeshirt week 6: Science Fiction
Although this shirt is kind of a Star Wars parody (if you’ve seen the movies, you’ll get the joke), it’s still pretty nerdy. Especially because I would have bought it regardless of the text, as long as the Death Star was readily apparent. Which leads me to today’s subject: science fiction. Continue reading “[Day 295] Teeshirt week 6: Science Fiction”
[Bonus!] Question Mark
I’m at Borders right now, waiting for the other debate people to show up, catching up on the blog. I wrote and posted yesterday’s and today’s teeshirt week blogs, and then drafted tomorrow’s. Then I wrote a short journal entry and updated my Facebook and Twitter. Now I’m staring at my computer, feeling like I’m not done. Continue reading “[Bonus!] Question Mark”
[Day 294] Teeshirt week 5: Thesaurus
Init cute?!? I don’t know if the picture quality is high enough for you to notice all of the subtle little details like the braces or the bowtie, and if not, use your imagination. The Thesaurus is the nerdiest dinosaur you’ll ever see, and I absolutely love him. I’ll post an even nerdier teeshirt blog tomorrow, but today I want to focus on why the Thesaurus is basically my spirit animal. Continue reading “[Day 294] Teeshirt week 5: Thesaurus”
[Day 293] Teeshirt week 4: Boys Like Girls
Sorry this post is a day late. I have two excuses: 1. I was inexplicably exhausted and randomly fell asleep in front of my computer at about four in the afternoon until around eight, plus 2. I have become inexplicably obsessed with Battlestar Galactica, and have watched 1 1/2 episodes so far on NinjaVideo. (Fun fact: the other day I expressed interest in watching the series, and my brother said “We already watch Doctor Who, which is here on the nerd scale,” *makes a motion with his hand* “Battlestar Galactica is here,” *makes much higher motion with hand*) Continue reading “[Day 293] Teeshirt week 4: Boys Like Girls”
[Day 292] Teeshirt week 3: Nerdfighters
A couple of years ago, I watched this video, which featured Maureen Johnson and Libba Bray, two of my favorite female writers. I had no idea who “Brother John” was, but I thought the video was funny. Then, a couple years later, I stumbled across a Youtube channel called “vlogbrothers”. After a couple videos and the realization that one half of the channel was an author that I had just discovered, John Green. (Yes, “Brother” John). I wrote him a letter back on day 125, which you can read here. (it’s weird that I can say things like that.) Continue reading “[Day 292] Teeshirt week 3: Nerdfighters”
