At least nine of you know about the return of the Bri’s Own World Poll, because, plus me, there were 10 votes on what color I should (temporarily) dye my hair at the end of the summer. And the winner is… purple!
First, some context. I’m actually going to be dying my hair sometime around the 4th of August, after I’m done with work. I would dye it earlier, like now, but with one week of work left, I felt it might not be the best idea. I mean, I work with KIDS. Little kids. And my hair is in a ponytail most of the time anyways so it wouldn’t be worth the effort.
Also, I specified “temporarily” only because I don’t want to have purple hair forever, nor do I want to mess up my natural hair color with hardcore dye. This is just for fun. Kind of.
Now. Why do I want to dye my hair a crazy color? Simple. I’ve never done it before.
I recently came across a blog about the 100 things to fight off boredom from anywhere, and one of the suggestions was to dye your hair. Almost immediately, I thought, “I can do that!” I used to pride myself in never having dyed my hair, but why? I paint my nails, do my eye makeup, and wear crazy colors, so why not do it with my hair? I could use a change.
I thought there would be more to this blog, but what it really comes down to is this: I need to stop being such a snob, and I need to let myself have more fun. So I let the internet decide what color to dye my hair. Why not?
