In 2006, a band came out with an album. I found this band through the MySpace profile song of a friend that I’d never actually met. After that initial listen, I knew what I must do. I said to myself, I must buy this album. So I did. This band is called Boys Like Girls.
Last summer I went to their Soundtrack of Your Summer concert in Texas with my grandma and a friend from camp. I was hoarse after wards, having memorized and sung at the top of my lungs all the songs they played. They have an interesting way of mixing a great beat with a great message. I loved their lyrics from the start. I mean, come on, what girl wouldn’t swoon if a boy said this to her? “Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer, you know you’re unlike any other, you’ll always be my thunder.” I know I would.
I’m only slightly ashamed to say that I screamed “I love you” to the lead singer, Martin, at the concert. Actually, scratch that. I’m not ashamed at all. I do love you, Martin Johnson.
But back on track. You may be asking yourself right now, “what good thing happened today that has to do with a band releasing an album almost four years ago?”
Well, fictional reader, I’ll tell you. Today, September 8th, the band released their second studio album, Love Drunk. I pre-ordered it about two weeks ago on iTunes, and they emailed me this morning to let me know that I could begin to download it.
My Boys Like Girls need has been appeased. For now.
You didn’t mention whether you liked the new album or not? Well did you?
I did, I did!
Ahh! That is a good thing!!
