I do. I really do. And since coming to college I have dressed up every single year, managing somehow to alternate the gender of the characters I portrayed. I don’t have time to give you a full blog, but I thought, in the spirit of the holiday, I could briefly give you a picture blog of my four college Halloweens.
Freshmen year: Katniss Everdeen. Significant details: Dollar Tree bow and arrow, “mockingjay” pin (homemade), side braid.
Sophomore year: The 11th Doctor. Significant details: Red bowtie (homemade), Goodwill tweed jacket, sonic screwdriver, fez (homemade), suspenders (crocheted, homemade, not pictured)).
Junior year: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then later random Vampire Slayer from Buffy universe. Significant details (of post-Buffy costume): Cross necklace (to ward off vamps), Dollar Tree axe, inappropriately sexy clothing that would totally not protect from a vampire attack.
(left: actual Buffy | below: vampire slayer)
Senior year: Han Solo. Significant details: red stripes on pants (homemade), gun holster, vest/henley shirt combo.
All in all, I’m pretty proud of my last few years. Growing up is overrated. Happy Halloween!
