Merry Wednesday!

My posts have been all over the place lately, and I apologize. Once the new year starts I’ll be back to my regular M-F schedule for blogging and Th-Su for videos, I promise.

Anyways, my Christmas was nice. It snowed all day on the 24th, giving us about 7 inches of the whitest Christmas I can remember. We stayed inside and played games and cooked, but you’ll hear more about that tomorrow when I post my “year in review” video. Christmas Day was even more low-key; it involved a lot of eating leftovers, “opening” our stockings (we’d opened gifts the night before), and playing more games, including what is now my all-time favorite, Last Night on Earth. It’s a zombie apocalypse board game where you play either as a hero (human) or a zombie hoard. There are various scenarios you can play, but usually it involves killing a certain amount of zombies or having a certain number of townsfolk survive until daybreak.  Basically, it’s the best concept for a game EVER. I generally play as the zombie hoard because even though it’s harder to win like that it’s fun to be the bad guys. My favorite part of the game is making up names for the zombies (my favorite so far are Fancy Dan, Lazy Gerard, and Joanne) and storylines for every battle or move.

Fair warning, I’m in kind of a zombie faze right now. Take that as you will.

My brother got me a signed George Watsky CD!! and a Cyberman action figure (from Doctor Who), and my mom and grandparents got me a bunch of random clothing items, money, gift cards, and games. It was a low key Christmas and it was perfect.

I’ve only got about a week and a half left in Colorado before I head back to Oregon for my internship and school, and I intend on spending the rest of my time here playing Last Night on Earth, watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer with my friends Chad and Chris, and watching Castle and the Mentalist with my mom. Oh, and working on speech stuff. Meh.

I’ve been taking a lot of iPhone pictures of my break, so here is my winter vacation (so far) in pictures:

SmoresDuring her backyard reboot, my mom installed a fire pit, so here’s us (with our neighbors and some of my mom’s friends) making inaugural s’mores! (photo courtesy of my grandpa)

This break has been just what I needed after the INSANE semester I just completed. I’m sad it’s almost over, but next semester should be easier, or at least more manageable. Happy holidays everyone, and have a very happy new year!
