Not-so-mid-year checkup

Click HERE for the original resolutions post. It explains in more detail what each thing refers to.

Basically, this is a blog to check up on my 2015 New Years Resolutions, because I think it’s important to think about them more than twice a year, at the beginning and at the end. This isn’t quite a mid-year checkup, but it’s close enough, and shut up this is my blog and my life and I do what I want.

1. Order in less than three times per week.

PROGRESS: Semi-good? I don’t know. I should have thought about this self-assessment scale before writing this blog. Technically, I have succeeded in this goal because since moving to my new apartment I rarely eat in my apartment because we have so many awesome places to eat within five blocks. But I really should be cooking more, for both monetary and health reasons. Also, I used to like cooking. Remember? Luckily, Quinn is moving here in less than a month and he cooks, so maybe I can get away with changing nothing and letting him do all the work. #relationshipgoals, amiright?!

2. Two meals a week have to be a salad.

PROGRESS: *sheepish giggle*

3. Post a YouTube video once every two weeks.

PROGRESS: *outright guffaw*

4. Post a blog every other week.

PROGRESS: I defy the comedic rule of three.

(this has clearly not happened)

5. Draft Burden of Proof season 1 by next January.

PROGRESS: I still intend to use this show idea for my graduate capstone script, and we’re supposed to start writing the pilot this semester, so I’m gonna say this one looks good, if a bit overly-ambitious. I will probably not write the whole season by January, although you never know. Maybe I can shift this goal to drafting Brains season 2?! (I’ve already written the first two episodes, but you didn’t hear it from me)

6. Film at least 1 episode of Brains.

PROGRESS:

(regular updates for the rest of the season to begin by the end of September.)

7. Figure out a battle plan for SLJ rewrites.

PROGRESS:

Screen Shot 2015-09-15 at 1.24.45 PM(done)

8. Complete draft of The Toast movie.

PROGRESS:

Screen Shot 2015-09-15 at 1.25.48 PM(done. Will have a second/third/fourth draft before the end of the year)

9. Keep bedroom cleaner.

PROGRESS:

Much better.

10. Visit both Oregon and Colorado.

PROGRESS: Does it count if people from Oregon and Colorado visit ME?! No? Well. Colorado will hopefully still happen but I didn’t exactly anticipate quitting my job and losing regular income (however temporarily).

So that’s…. 4.5/10? Not the worst, especially because my successes have been major projects and I may have been a bit too ambitious anyhow. Plus, I filmed 10 episodes of Brains, so that’s worth at least two more points in my favor. Filming more episodes counts as eating two salads a week, right?!
