The Paper Crane Ninja: Poetry Remix

I still can’t stop thinking about those paper cranes, so when we were tasked with writing a “still life” poem last week in poetry class, I couldn’t help but revisit them again. The actual assignment was to write a poem mirroring the style of a William Carlos Williams poem (which was merely OK) so I did the assignment but then wrote my own version of the poem. Thoughts? The Midsummer Station: Review

 

A couple weeks ago, Owl City’s new album, The Midsummer Station, was released and as a well established fan I of course downloaded it immediately. After listening to it all the way through, I think did the next logical thing (for me) and tweeted about it. If you’ll look at the picture to the left…. OWL CITY (ADAM YOUNG) HIMSELF RETWEETED ME. The Paper Crane Ninja

So on Wednesday morning, our digital imaging professor sent us out around campus for an hour to take pictures that we will then learn how to edit next week. I had grand plans of going all over campus, but my first, and what turned out to be my only, stop was behind the science buildings, over by where the greenhouse and the fountain are. It’s an area not many people go to, since there’s only one or two buildings there and it’s kind of out of the way for most students, but it’s gorgeous, and I knew I’d find some good shots.
