On Borders
So Borders is closing. Or declaring bankruptcy. Or something. Whatever. Not important. What IS important is that the Borders in my town is closing and that’s probably been the most devastating news I’ve heard since my parents got divorced. Not even joking. Continue reading “On Borders”
Robinson Crusoe Review
I know this post is late. I’M SORRY, ok? I totally forgot, I’ll admit it. Shhhhhhh.
So the first book we had to read for my Studies in Fiction class was Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe. From what I’d heard before starting, it was something of an adventure story. Continue reading “Robinson Crusoe Review”
Terrier by Tamora Pierce
I think this is going to be a new thing, book reviews. Because I read a lot, and a lot of what I read I would suggest other people read. And I need to force myself to write things other than personal emo anecdotes. So look forward to more reviews in the future. Yeah. You’re welcome. Continue reading “Terrier by Tamora Pierce”
Matched book review
You know I write dystopian society novels. You know I read dystopian soviety novels. And you know I love them. I love the espionage, the revolutions, the romanticism of “what if?”. So naturally, when a package of books arrived for my birthday and I read the sleeve of Ally Condie’s Matched, I was excited. Continue reading “Matched book review”
Why I hated Romeo and Juliet
I hope I never led anyone to believe that I liked the drivel some people consider “the greatest love story of all time”, because that would be a gross oversight. I didn’t like Romeo and Juliet when we read it my freshman year of high school, and I don’t like it now. Continue reading “Why I hated Romeo and Juliet”
The Whoverse and the Briblogosphere
I should really be in bed right now. No, but really. I’m already sleep deprived as it is an dangerously close to falling behind on my classes. Yes, already. That might just be the exhaustion and pre-stress talking, but whatever. On a vaguely related note, I feel like I haven’t just talked to you guys in a while. That will change… soonish. Not now. Maybe not even this week. But I promise to post a talk-bloggy-blog soon. Ish. But I really just needed to get this post out. Continue reading “The Whoverse and the Briblogosphere”
Anna and the French Kiss
I think I’ve mentioned on this site before that I want to be John Green when I grow up. I want to write books and make YouTube videos for a living and have an adorable baby and be awesome. That sentence made sense at the beginning… ah well. Anyways. Recently, John has begun advocating a book, Anna and the French Kiss, in his videos, and I was curious, so I asked for it for my birthday. Continue reading “Anna and the French Kiss”

[Day 304] BCILAAMTBW Week 4: Charlie Banks
Two Charlies in two days! A mini-mini arc! I doubt many of you will recognize this character’s name, so I’ll fill you in: Charlie Banks is one of the two main characters in The Last Days of Summer, my favorite book that I mention in all sorts of different posts. (here and here and here and here and here and here) Charlie is the 3rd baseman for the New York Giants and regular correspondent to Joey Margolis, the book’s 12 year old other main character. And Charlie and I are meant to be. Continue reading “[Day 304] BCILAAMTBW Week 4: Charlie Banks”
