Playlists of the Future

I guess now is as good a time as any to admit that I’ve got a new career/writing goal in mind for my post-college life. I want to write for TV. The way I figure it, my biggest strength as a writer is dialog and I watch a ton of TV, so why not combine those passions? Novels will always be my first love, but I think the best fit for me as a writer is a TV writer. With that, I started looking into the various ways I can break into the industry. It’s not very heartening, but what I have learned is that the most important thing to have is sample scripts, called “spec scripts”. Some should be scripts for current shows to prove you can write for someone else’s characters, and some should be original scripts. Continue reading “Playlists of the Future”

A Recipe for a Healthy Relationship

I told Rachel the other day that Quinn is the first boyfriend I’ve had that I actually want to be around. No offense, Cody, but once we started dating, we stopped being friends, and you know it. Either way, for those of you who haven’t seen my obsessive countdown posting on Facebook, Quinn came to Colorado last Thursday, and since I haven’t seen him since the middle of May, I was rather excited.
