Nothing Like the First Time // Watsky
The last CD I reviewed was OK Go. I’m such a hipster sometimes.
Though he’s on tour at the moment, George Watsky still had time to release a new [free] mixtape on his personal Bandcamp page, and I, of course, immediately downloaded it.
Normally, I like maybe two or three out of ten songs from Watsky, who is also incidentally my favorite spoken word poet. But this album? This album is brilliant. Let’s go song by song. Continue reading “Nothing Like the First Time // Watsky”
A Brief Camp NaNo Update
A couple weeks ago I blogged about my involvement in something called “Camp NaNoWriMo”, which I’m not going to explain again because I already blogged about it. If you need a refresher, click here. Today I just want to give you some updates. Continue reading “A Brief Camp NaNo Update”
All Work and All Play
Finally! A new[ish] video!
King of the Camp
I think I mentioned this in a video a while back (though I haven’t posted in a while so who knows if I’m lying or what), but this summer I have a job. A real job, unlike last year. I mean, I did get paid for a couple things last year, but it was few and far between, since I was mostly freelancing. Anyways, point is, this year I have a job with a regular paycheck and shifts and everything. What is that job, you ask? Answer: Camp counselor/coach at a summer sports camp. Aaaa! Sorry!!
So I filmed two whole videos in the past two weeks… and I completely forgot to load them onto my computer and edit them. That’s why there have been no videos. And I have worked every Monday and Friday since the blogs have stopped, so, yeah. I’ll try to get back on the wagon, though. Sorry.
BUT BONES IS SUCH A GOOD TV SHOW
Working towards a less judgemental tomorrow
…or so they thought. OK. Here’s the dealio. I have zero interesting things to talk about, so I thought, instead, that I’d give you a bit of info dump about my hopeful senior thesis novel, tentatively titled Catchers. I’m pretty sure I’m going to try to plow through it during NaNoWriMo (in November), so this summer I’m participating in what’s called Camp NaNoWriMo, which runs in both June and August to help aspiring NaNoWriMo participants plan and organize their work. If you want to sponsor my camp activities (and help me win a cool poster, since that’s obviously what’s important here), click here. If you just want to read about my Camp NaNo activities, click here. Continue reading “Working towards a less judgemental tomorrow”
Summertime makes me drowsy
…And thus I’ve been getting next to nothing done. During the school year it’s easy to be productive because I already have to be awake and walking around in the morning, and once it gets to be about 3pm and I’m done with class, I can head to the coffee shop to get some much needed productivity out of the way. But during the summer, I either have absolutely no reason to get out of my wonderfully giant, warm bed, or I have to go to work at 7am and I don’t get off until 6pm, at which time I’m really not feeling the productivity buzz at all. Setting is everything
So we all know I’m crazy, right? That’s universally accepted? Good.
It’s Monday as I write this blog, at my local Starbucks, and I’m not afraid to admit that I’m floundering. Remember a couple weeks ago when I posted that rambly blog about my possible senior thesis novel? Well, I’ve decided that I really, really want to write said senior thesis novel, and would like to have a mostly-complete outline by the end of the summer. Excited by this prospect, I drove myself to the aforementioned Starbucks to get to work. Continue reading “Setting is everything”
