[Day 29] My throat is burning

Photo 359I am out of shape. I’m not going to try and sweet talk my way around this. I am so out of shape I pant walking to class. When I go up the short flight of stairs in my house, I have to talk really fast and pause a lot afterwards so no one can hear me gasping for air. Yes, my dear (2) readers. I am THAT out of shape.

But today I am proud of myself. No, adrenaline didn’t kick in at the opportune moment to save an emo kid from a football player’s fist. But I did get the endorphins flowing. Because today, I went on a run.

Yes, an actual run. Well, sort of. My friends Mia and Kelli came over to my house and we did five minutes of brisk walking to warm up, then alternated 60 seconds jogging and 90 seconds walking. Let me tell you; this was three hours ago and I’m still sucking air like it’s a limited resource. But this is not the point!

Well, one of the points I should make is that you should NEVER POST BLOGS AT THIS TIME OF NIGHT. And of course, by this time of night I mean nine thirty pm after you intensely exercised for the first time in years. It creates this odd spasm in my brain that deludes me into thinking I’m clever. This is never a good thing.

So I finally did something about it. And according to Mia, who found this running work out thing on the internet, after 8 weeks, three times a week, we should be able to run three miles. I, of course, have my doubts, but if we can run three times a week for two months I’ll be thrilled.

Additionally, exercise is supposed to help you sleep, something I haven’t been doing much lately. And on that note, I’m going to go shower and fall asleep with myelin sheaths and norepinephrine dancing in my head.

(I have a psychology test tomorrow)

  1. Bri, we should bike sometime. It’s a good lung builder and it’s not as…jarring as running. I need a friend to ride with anyway. Besides, I could use to get more exercise.

  2. I ride where ever. I actually would really like to get out of my typical area. I can always just do what ever you do, riding to meet you near your house is pretty far from my house, so that would be fun. We can work out the details on Wednesday maybe.

What's up, my dudes?
