[Day 84] Thank you, Kelsey

There is beauty in music. When I pre-order a CD on iTunes, it’s like magic on the morning that it starts to download, when it’s officially out.

Jason Mraz just released his new live CD, Jason Mraz’s Beautiful Mess- Live on Earth. Being an admirer of his music anyways, I knew I would like this CD before even hearing it. But I’ll be honest, when I woke up this morning, I didn’t expect to fall in love.

Most of the tracks are older songs played live on his most recent tour, but several songs, like All Night Long, Sunshine Song, Anything You Want, and Copchase are entirely new.

Even more exciting is the fact that many of the older songs have new twists on them. Jason Mraz has been quoted to say that he enjoys changing lyrics at shows to mix it up. The lyrics change with the world, he says. No song is the same from its release to its retirement.

I love the smooth rhythm of his voice, the sultry strings of his acoustic guitar, and his undying zealousness for his music. When someone loves their job as much as Jason Mraz, it’s hard not to fall under his spell.

Also, go buy “I’ve Got Nothing” by Chartjackers, a band put together over YouTube in the UK specifically for raising money for children in need. Their goal is to “jack” the top spot on the UK charts. Even though we in the US can’t do much for that, our contributions still go to the charity and we can raise their ranking on the iTunes download chart.

What's up, my dudes?
