Summer Movies!

Ok, so the prime season for movies is here, and that means spending money on whats bound to be just another blockbuster, but which movies ARE worth it? I’ll try and help out with personal experiences and from what I’ve heard. Feel free to comment on the ones you’ve seen as well.

First, I’ll go with ones I’ve seen…

The Hangover- A hilarious adult comedy, I think that if you like your humor crude, definitely see this.

Public Enemies- The best film I’ve seen all summer, this also comes highly recommended. I loved almost every moment in this, but some people might find it to drag a bit.

Star Trek- While I wouldn’t say it was a great movie, it is a pretty fun experience. But as of this summer, I think its the best blockbuster out.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen- This is gonna make money no matter what I say. If judged only on the action, this is one of the greatest movies ever made, too bad there had to be a story and actors too. This all drags it down to be a mediocre film, so if you want action with a story, go with Star Trek.

Up- Just barely behind Public Enemies for my favorite, its definitely worth checking out. I can’t imagine someone not having a good time at this one.

Year One- Its actually better than the previews make it out to be, so it is worth a watch, just that it isn’t good enough where I would suggest to go see it in theaters. But if you enjoy a little religion bashing, then I would recommend it a little more.

Away We Go- Just saw this, easily my favorite film of the year. It was funny, touching, and well made, I highly recommend this to anyone on here looking for a good movie.

Now on to what I’ve heard, so don’t take these suggestions as seriously.

The Brothers Bloom- Looks ok, isn’t exactly a big blockbuster so I would expect it to be decent at least.

Drag Me To Hell- I’ve actually heard some great things about this one, being one of the truly scary PG-13 horror films. If you like this genre, I think this might be worth your time.

My Sister’s Keeper- If you like the book, beware, it isn’t like it from what I’ve heard. To me it doesn’t sound too good, but the average moviegoer will probably be sad afterwards.

The Taking of Pelham 123- Looks like a decent action movie, but haven’t heard much about it, good or bad. Might be worth your time.

Terminator Salvation- I’ve heard this is pretty bad, especially if you liked the first two. It was kinda a pointless movie to make anyways…

Wolverine- Again, haven’t heard anything good about this one. Wait to see it out on DVD.

Ice Age 3- From the reviews, it isn’t too bad, but I would still go to Up if your looking for a good animated movie.

Night at the Museum 2- Didn’t hear much about this one, probably just another bad sequel, but it might have some redeeming qualities…

The Proposal- Its a romantic comedy, so to me it probably isn’t that good, but if you like this genre, then you’ll probably like this one.

What's up, my dudes?
