Ramblings from Oregon

Because the computers on campus are somewhat inconvenient to get to and to be at, I decided to blog while I had the chance. My writing has been going very well, since that’s basically all I do. I read some, then I am given a general thought and am told to write about it for five to ten minutes. It yields interesting results. Examples:

“I find old fashioned lamp posts incredibly romantic and magical. Maybe it’s because of Dumbledore in the very beginning of the Sorcerer’s Stone. Maybe it’s because there was a lamp post at the entrance to Narnia. Or maybe lamp posts represent a simpler time, a more passionate time, when life was just as if was. There, in the moment.

My God, I’m wired. Every time my bag scrapes against the chapstick in my pocket, I think my cell phone is vibrating. I reach for the phone before realizing that I had quarantined it in my dorm room before breakfast.

We are the generation of impatience and short attention spans. OOH! SOMETHING SHINY!”

“It does not interest me that we live in different worlds.

I want to know if you respect my world,

and that you will occasionally visit.

It does not interest me that you say you miss me

I want to know if you mean it,

and if you are willing to sacrifice in order to change it.

It does not interest me that you are afraid of commitment.

I want to know that there is something about me that is worth it,

even if you still can’t make yourself risk it.

It does not interest me that you are afraid

I want to watch you conquer it

and see something worth looking foolish over

and as much as I want that something to be me

I just want you to live without fear, and you know which kind I mean,

Because I trust that you will someday be able to trust your own heart.”

Enjoy.

Regards,

Bri (loving the weather)
