Top 5 Best Cinematography Movies

Cinematography is really just how a certain shot looks like in a movie. So the ones I am including in this list all look beautiful from one scene to the next. I think all were nominated for Academy Awards, and some won.

5. Lawrence of Arabia

This is easily the oldest film, but still one of the all time greats. The scenes in the desert are especially good, and above just shows some of the best this has to offer.

4. Legends of the Fall

I don’t think any movie has come close to filming in the mountains and making them look so majestic in the background

3. The Man Who Wasn’t There

I think what really is best in this one is the contrast between black and white.

2. Children of Men

The bleak future in this movie is captured perfectly by the muted colors, but sometimes when there is hope, the sun comes out and creates a glare in the camera lens. This is professional filmmaking at its best.

1. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

This shot is even my desktop background. If it weren’t for Roger Deakins’ beautiful cinematography in this movie, I wouldn’t like it nearly as much. Shot after shot, I was amazed by this movie.
