Of course, I am no exception to this shame. I admit that I was home on Wednesday for music, but to be fair, I was writing cases pretty much all day. But hey, I’m blogging now.
A lot has been going on. Although Bart and I made it to state, we went 0-3, which was kind of bad, but oh well. I had a good time. I got to spend a lot of time with Danny (wink wink Betsy!) and I made a bunch of new friends. I also got to watch the semi final and final rounds of public forum, the event I sucked at this weekend. I’m happy.
For all of you WABIAY people (if you don’t know what that stands for, I’m not talking to you), I have not written a word in my latest venture in about a month. I know, I know. Shame. I’ve just lost all motivation. I want my edits back on Reticence, because that seems to be good and close to my heart right now. Gah.
So to get to the music part of today’s blog, I got two new CDs last Wednesday, Big Bad World by Plain White Tees and Something About Airplanes by Death Cab for Cutie. I love Big Bad World (If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the music video for ‘1,2,3,4’. The song is unbelievably romantic, but the music video is almost too much to handle.) and the variety of sounds there are on it. Something About Airplanes is… to say the least… interesting. On the drive up to state, I let Bart listen to one of the weirder songs, and when he finally removed my right ear bud, he looked at me and said, “well, someone was tripping a little acid.” I had to agree; a lot of the songs are a bit… trippy. There are ups and downs, songs I really like and songs that I feel like I’m being initiated into a cult, but overall I like how different the sound is.
Also, my friend Donovan, who has an amazing taste in music, recently turned me to Spring Awakening songs and Repo the Genetic Opera. They both sound odd, and they’re both actually musicals (sorry, Repo is a ‘rock opera’. Whatever, Donovan), but when he played them for me on him iPod, I honestly thought they were mainstream. They’re a bit more electronica-power-punk, but they’re cool. I feel powerful and sexy just listening to them. I would suggest looking them up, because they’re excellent. Warning: some sugestive or foul language.
There is my blog, because I was getting a little antsy without any postings for a while. Byes for nows…
Ohh, the wonderful Death Cab for Cutie. I don’t know what ablum I have on my iPod, but their newest CD (Narrow Stairs) is really weird. One of the songs has a 8 minute bass line…and..yeah…it’s interesting. I’ll burn it for you.
(:
Haha. DANNY!!!
We’re so cool.
YAY! Spring Awakening is my reason for living! it is the best thing that has happened to musical theater since,… since,… since,… since SLICED BREAD!!!!
i would rather listen to Bach and Tchaikovsky, no offense to your music thought
